On a side note. Do you think TT rods and stock pistons would work? Just a thought. I'm trying to save money. And also would the stock valve train work for this HP rating?

SHOULD means it's not stock and unreliable as hell, just like any other pile of not stock ---- that's been gone through by amateur hobbyists. The only way I can see you breaking a rod, though, is through oil pump failure or you completely ------- up the bearing clearances. The rods themselves are stout and do not break across the beam for no reason.

Clue up, dude. You need a $500 beater to be able to attend to your life if your turbo toy breaks. Don't listen to all the people who tell you that their turbo toy is reliable daily driver. You'll just end up fucked in the *** over the deal.

Thanks man. I'll save on the engine mods and just get a beater. Then its TURBO TIME! (...turbo man... Jingle all The way... )

ZC rods are D16 rods. The early 86-87 were a cruder design that "look" beefier, but if you had a set side by side with any other D16 rod your reaction would be "WTF? What's all the hype about?" They are, at best, good for 0.02 whp more than any other D16 rod and more likely to fail at high RPM.

you know, that was a question that has been left unanswered at www.g1teg.org for YEARS. All we knew is that the rods were slightly bigger, but we had no idea if they were auctually any better. We figured honda wouldnt downgrade the rods, tho...but we just had no proof either way.

it's been known for 10 + years, the fatter 86-87 rods weren't stronger, just the g1teg community was in denial about it.
