True, the were recommend by a old-school toyota guy. Has them in his 1.8 for years with no problems and zero psi drop.

wouldnt forged piston rings be dif from oem rings? im sure they make specific rings for those pistons, id call the maker and ask them.

Yea some forged are different thickness and such. Definetly call the forged piston manufacturer and get the specs on the rings that fit before slapping just anything on there.

I called Endyne, they want $145 for a set of rings plus shipping . For that I can toss in a bit more and get the Total Seal rings. I'm pretty sure that Weisco makes their pistons, maybe I can use some weicos if they are cheaper.

endyn here.... weisco makes their piston frgings for them... but they are NOT the same as weiscos... thy use a different alloy. i got pistons and ins for 60 shpped... ot sure how much the rings were ot pistons, rings, wristpins and locks...) JR hooked me up through Josh @ Endyn
