Default Ring question

How much boost would you think a .043" compression ring would take with 9:1 compression. I have a set of CP's for the wife's stang and was just curious what you guys thought. They use the same ring setup in the cup cars right now. my goal is 800-1000HP from the 408 cleveland

Go to CP's website and see what their recommendations are.

.0043 is a good sized gap, but since you are running a larger piston than most of us u also have to consider the heat expansion on yours is also going to be alot more. What is the piston to wall clearance like? What is it stock? also what is your ring end gap stock?

Well, I had spoke to them and they recomend up to 10psi. Just curious if anybody here has used CP before and pushed them past what CP recomends. They hold up nicely in cup cars with up to 800HP. I figure a street/strip car with up to 1000 should hold as well since I'm not beating the ---- out of it at 8000+ RPM, With a 7000 RPM limiter, it shouldnt have near the stresses. Its screaming for a 408, but the bottom end will hold.

.043 is the ring thickness, not gap
