Default fire ring question!!!!!!

I have one of those ebay imitation tial external wastegates and it works perfectly fine but i have never had the fire ring in it and the turbo is really laggy because of it. I could never figure out how it fits between the maifold and the wastegate So bascially i know the ring will fit in the bottom of the wastegate but the other end has like a taper on it and with the fire ring in the bottom of the wastegate it wont fit flush on the manifold? So how does it fit between the manifold and wastegate? I took a couple pics to kinda expain what my problem is.

thats the flange the wastegate came with and the smaller part of the fire ring looks like it would fit in there fine but the flange on my mainifold it would end up sitting kinda like this pic below.

basically with the fire ring in the bottom of the wastegate and stitting on the manifold there would be about a 8th of a inch gap still there between the manifold and wastegate

i believe its supposed to be flipped over and pushed all the way into the bottom of the wastegate.

o ----! I think your right! I just thought about that? Im going to have to take my wastegate off and see if that will work. I dont think it fit in there very easily so i will just cram that ---- in with a hammer or something lol. Ill let you know what happens.

definately a good idea so it doesnt leak, and prevent you from boosting. Also make sure you torque the screws down good cause mine came loose at first and caused a leak

alright cool thanks! I figured it out now. I tightened the bolts down pretty damn tight and used locktight on them so it wont come loose.
