If the groove was worn out, machining it larger and using an oversize piston ring is necessary. If you can move the piston ring in and out on the shaft even slightly, that's gonna be a leaker for sure.

Yes, if with a 1/16" restrictor and a proper ½" drain you still have oil leakage problem, you can send your turbo to us. We rebuild it for only 125$ and after that it looks and performs like a new one and is covered with a 6 months warranty.

hey blast while you guys are doing a rebuild can you take out off/weld up my external wastegate the right way. i dont want to ---- anything up. i'll be running a tube mani with a knock off 46mm waste

You mean? plugging the internal wastegate hole in the turbine ?
It doesn't involve welding at all!
Just a block off flange does the trick for 25$ !

That is a really good deal on a rebuild compared to the $250 norm.
