I recommend him, I sent my turbo out and got it back within 2 weeks. The longest part is that sometimes there may be a slight delay at the border, but trust me, it is well worth it. Top notch guy, top notch work. BTW, I had rebuilt the exact same turbo as yours. Mine needed a new backplate and other misc. parts, and It still only cost under $200 to get rebuilt.

my buddies seem to think all the parts on those t3s are balanced individually.........so its okay to swap turbines and comp wheels without getting it rebalanced.

not true eh? If you try to rebuild the turbo yourself, mark the shaft and compressor wheel and retaining nut to get them lined up the same as they were during reassembly and it should stay fairly close to its original balance. Don't expect the bearings to last and check for slop frequently. |

And still, when you mount some brand new shaft and wheel together, the resulting assembly always need balancing! because of that, wheels taken off a used turbo are no longer balanced individually because some material has been ground-off from them in order to balance their assembly with the other wheel and thrust collar and all that, under one single angle. Marking the wheel and re-indexing it at the same position will at best put the assembly in the same unblance condition that caused the bearings to wear in the first place. |

If the oil seals wear out, it HAS to be bacause of excessive shaft movement, either lateral or axial.
so either your journal bearings and/or your thrust bearing are worn out |
