Rebuild Turbo. DIY ?

Re:Rebuild Turbo. DIY ?
Thanks for all the replies.
I would definately get that rebuild cartridge.
But they only have it for a .60 .48.
And from what I know. Mine is a .60 .63.
Stealthmode oil lines. Drain is huge and unkinked.
That cartridge sounds so good cause then I wont have to wait to get it balanced, but I guess no luck for me.
Any more ideas ?
And if I need to, where can I get it balanced after I
rebuild it ?
I plan on getting a new center section off ebay and a 75 dollar rebuild kit. And then get it balanced.
This isnt cheap !

Re:Rebuild Turbo. DIY ?
On that show "trucks" Stacy David ( the host ) took the compressor wheel off a Ford power stroke's turbo and replaced it with a different ( from Banks engineering ), and never got it balenced. I wonder if he just covently forgot to meantion that it needed to be balenced or if he really didn't do it...
I've heard you can just mark the relantion of the wheels to each other and just make sure they go back on the same place, but I'd definataly just pay the $85..
So.... $100 for the rebuild kit and $85 for balencing...
$185 to do it myself ( and maybe screw it up ) OR send it to my boy Rob http://www.extremeturboshop.com/pricing.htm and pay $240 and know its done 100% correct...
For a few extra bucks he can lighten the compressor wheel and/or clip the turbine... I'm lucky enough to live 5 minutes from him, hehe...

If you live that close then I say go for it. You can throw him a beat down if it is done wrong
If you are gonna do it all the way with balancing and ---- then just have someone do it all with a guarentee.
