Default quick question about screamer/dump pipe

Got my downpipe made up and separated the exuast housing to run screamer pipe
Would there be any majour difference in sound/loudness when the wastegate opens according to the lenth of the dump / screamer pipe ?

Diameter of pipe is around 1".
My thoughts would be the shorter the pipe the louder it would be , as i've seen this with my mates wrx.
Any ideas..?

lengths kinda change the tone mostly, and longer usually has a minimal effect of less volume.

I just changed from running no dumptube to having one that runs down right under the bumper support today and the car sounds so much better! The tone is way deeper now when it opens up.

Ive got a 14b and Ive yet to weld any sort of dump tube onto the flange. When I hit full boost its really loud and sounds horrible and my trannsmission is taking on a darker shade from the exhaust. :P Ive been debating whether to dump under my crossmember or to put it back into the exhaust. I think im going to do what sohc_mshue did and just dump it if the tube makes so much of a difference.

Haha, yeah definately just weld a section of pipe onto that. It seriously must stink to hell and dirty up your engine bay.
