quick question about open dp

Default quick question about open dp

hey guys i was wondering if i can run open dp. without a downpipe flange on it. ive got everything done. wired up my resistor box. hopefully i did that ---- right. but i wanted to know if i can start my car without a dp flange on it. just wondering if its safe. let me know. quickly

REmove your electric fan if you have one, otherwise it will melt.

yeah and when you drive it it will make the coolest whirllly sound high pitch sound so cool like a truck.....

It would be best if you had some sort of a downpipe that would route the exhaust at least straight down, so just a little 90 degree bend.

i dont even have a flange to do that. i was thinkin about just putting on the cast one. but cutting it and welding a pipe to it. im waitin for my flange to get here. it should have been here by now. ill wait till tomorrow. yeah it does sound like a truck. i was cruisin down the street and all kinds of honkey tonks were looking at me cruise by. haha.

its hard to weld cast to aluminumized steel, but what i did with mine was where the bolts come out of the turbo for the flange, i welded washers to my flared pipe to make my own flange. works just fine (so far)

not really, plus thats not really a smart idea
depending on what year civic, no dp/o2 housing will cause your fan to melt, cause the gases exit right beside it.

I got some exhaust pipe welded to my stock 02 on my 1st setup.Sounded mean as hell but felt kinda weak low end.Got a 02 housing flange and got made a custom dp and to me it pulled harder.
