Quick pipe sizing question

Re: Quick pipe sizing question
no such thing as an "up pipe".
You have your Intercooler (IC) piping (goes from the compressor to the throttle body)
From the exhaust manifold, gases go through the turbo and out the side. This is where you need your downpipe. It takes it from the exhaust wheel routes it underneath the car to your exhaust system (cat, muffler, and out the ***).
Does this answer your question?
Here is a picture for you... the smaller pipe in the front is the dumptube, this one routes back into the Downpipe from the wastegate. Most people don't route it back into the downpipe. The downpipe the the black pipe curling under the turbo (the bigger pipe the dumptube is routed into).
picture is of rudebwoy's setup, BTW.. just a good picture of what we're talking about.

Re: Quick pipe sizing question
Unless there is some terminology I just don't know... that "Up" pipe looks exactly like a downpipe. It has a flange for the turbo and a flex section, often seen in dowpipes to reduce stress on all the parts (since the engine moves). Where did you get that picture of the "Up pipe"?

Re: Quick pipe sizing question
From DC sports (AEMpower.com)
It looks like the turbo bolts to the up pipe, then that bolts to the downpipe?
Other dowpipes look like these two together.
Again, just tyring to find a way around welding, but still want my a/c so i dont even know if those pipes would work..
I'm trying to figure my piping now for the t3/t04 on my b18c1 in my 96 dx coupe, and wish to retain my a/c and p/s!

Re: Quick pipe sizing question
this is a downpipe
this is also a downpipe
this looks like an uppipe for a wrx
downpipes come in differant sizes and shapes depending on the size or type of turbo used, manifold, and vehicle used in a settup.
if you have a wrx youll need an uppipe like the one pictured.
hondas only use downpipes.
