+1. Or, I guess I'm really +2 on this one.

IIRC the outer scroll will spool slightly faster. And don't listen to that SFWD stuff, a 1.30 is what a 6.5-7.8 liter gas engine needs. The S372 units most the SFWD guys are running come at 1.30 AR T6 flange and then get a 0.8-0.9 AR T4 housing swapped on for laggy spool with minimal top end restriction.

so.....lets say i block off the inside inlet, run a log mani, bump my rev limiter up to 7,000 (stock redline is 6,200), and add bisi's turbo cam to the engine, is it do-able?
i really would like to have some boost built up by around4,000-4,500 rpm. hey BDV, your running a t4 on a 2.2 liter right? when do you start to get boost?

BTW, im only looking to run about 10-12 psi

I say go for it.. can always "customize" that turbo as needed.

The third pic owns you. 3.25" hole to hole = T4.

I have seen a number of 9.xx- 10.0x fwd cars running 1.2x+ T4 hot sides, but a 1.30 T6 never, that is for the 355cid motor I have waiting for a chassis. The hot side pictured is a T4 not a T6.

+3 on the half block.

Thats funny. I've got what I think is the exact same turbo sitting in the trunk of my DSM right now. Of a International DT436 from a Case IH 1480 combine and was found on a whole lot of international powered equipment. We swapped it off for a holset H1E, which was a very nice upgrade BTW. Makes less boost with the 22cm housing on it, but runs cooler EGTs and has a bit more power. Smokes less.

Its going to end up as a turbine engine.

It is a T4

No. After seeing the difference in that diesel from swapping to the holset from this turbo. I don't think I would really want to. Obviously it may perform fine on a difference engine though.

I definitely like the holset stuff a lot better than any of the older garrett turbos.

It's a TO4B. That means the turbine is T4 as well as the compressor. Unfortunately, the TO4B don't come with anything impressive compressor wise. Yours could be the S or V-trim. The S-trim is small and the V trim is 55.4 IIRC. Either way it's a terrible sized turbine for such a small T4 compressor; it would lag and not have that impressive of a top end. Those turbos are PERFECT for converting to a T3/T4. You'll need a 68 or 76 trim turbine wheel, a hotside that'll fit the turbine wheel, and a rebuilt kit. If you run it like that you'll be sad. It'll spool very late (a lot of those T4's have P-trim and H-trim turbines lol) and the compressor isn't very miraculous at all. They're made for low boost on big motors, not high boost on small motors hahaha. Since you got it for free you'll be able to convert it to a T3 for about $200 and have yourself a solid t3/t4 cheap. I do that all the time with throw away T04's.
