just to add to the discussion: thoughts on a daily driven vitara setup in NY? it get pretty darn cold around here and stays that way for a while. im wondering if it would be too much cold - rattle time for a daily driven setup.

i just measured the top compression ring end gap (with an old ring, dont know if that will make much of a difference) and its larger than .024" which is hondas service limit and what my feeler gauge reads up to. Does anyone know where to get file fit rings or gapless rings for a d series? I looked for hours already.

but yea they do sound like a deisel truck warming up but once they are hot they sound like any other forged piston...i had a friend with cp's in his car and they sound identical...you couldnt tell who had what pistons in there car from the sound of the idle.....

i had the head off one time and there was some slight scarring on the walls but nothing i could feel with my finger nail...and that was with about 7k miles on the build...we were very concerned with the piston to wall clearance as well but i think its only an issue on cold start up. the vitaras seem to expand nicely and fill the gap.

use the suzukis piston to wall clearance spec. that should work out good.

thats good to hear if it works for you 35k miles is that normal reap everyday..? well thats great to hear.. but im boring cuz i got the oversize pistons so i shouldent bore any more to get the .003 suzuki cleanace cuz d sleeewes are weak and sohcpwr is telling im gonna blow my motor any thing over 275hp so ---- i hope my think holds togeter cuz im just wiating on my my bro to assemble the bottom end and do the plasti guage ---- on the bearings and then i can drop the head on and put it back in the car and break iit in then BOOST THE HELL OUT OF It.. well i hope i dont im gonna try to take it easy for a week or so ill try. i dont know how taht will work out since i got a built motor now.. and all that boost is tempting..
