If it is an OEM from the showroom floor wastegate, the adjustment nut has been "staked" so you will not be able to adjust it. This is common to all the Swedish turbo units, they did it to Saabs as well as Scania trucks. If it is an OEM replacement wastegate, or an aftermarket replacement wastegate, the adjustment rod comes unstaked so that the installing mechanic can adjust it as needed. These usually get tightened down and maybe loctited, but unlike the original part can be adjusted. Mine is adjustable. Loosen the nut and lengthen/shorten the threaded rod. ;) ;D JP |

Hah, I can imagine. Had a guy's compressor nut back off on his SSAC SuPeR T70 last night, two hours into tuning, he started flipping out. I mean, what?, I TOLD him it was a diceroll turbo.

Want my opinion? You aren't going to belt sand jack, sir. We lathed ours down and that my freind was nearly 3/32". JP |

You can belt sand the turbine housing, but it's going to take a minute and consume the belt. I've shored up large-ish pieces of metal before with one, and before Sronce machineshop got a different head surfacer I did all the head too small to fit on their old rotary broach that I touched with a belt sander: Geo Metro 3 cyl, small V6 heads, a couple Saab V-4 and VW aircooled heads. Worked pretty well.
