Default pcv catch can setup

I was looking in the beesandgoat link, and I saw the catch can setup, how effective is this setup? is it a must for the fittings in the intake pipes point in the direction shown in the illustration? what if they are just in the pipe and does not angle will it still work effectively? no PVC valve also, catch must a sealed can, or filtered? anyone familiar with this setup, (ABAZ)

why not just do the second setup with the breather on the valve cover. It makes it a lot simpler and you don't need to angle the fitting in the turbo intake pipe, just connect it to it. Thats the way I will do it.

I really dont think the fittings have to be angled, for it to work but I just want to know if it anyone have an objection to just doing it straight, cause the valve cover dont suck, it blows, I think no matter it it was angled it would still worked like just have a breather, differnce would be that the oily air from the valve cover would get burned instead of in the atmosphere, plus I aready have the setup its just not angled, but if it absolutely definately have to be that way, I can use copper tubing in the barb fittings I put in the intake pipe
