Default overheating on highway ** PROBLEM SOLVED**

ok, I've had this thing running with my new turbo for like 2 weeks now, I rarely ever go on the highway, but I did today, not the first time since i've had my new turbo, but after about 5 mins of going 75, it SLOWLY went up. The first time I turned off the a/c, hit the heat on high and it dropped really fast, then I just kept the a/c off, and it SLOWLY went back up, I hit the heat on again, but this time it took longer to go back down. In town it has never even started to get hot. Any ideas?

i thought of that, but I thought that I had already bled all the air pockets out, I'll try again though.

ok, I tried it, When the engine was cold, I was able to put more radiator fluid in, more than I though I would be able to, I took it out on the highway, It ran fin for the first 5 mins, then I turned around, and started coming back home and 5 motorcycles flew by me at about 110mph, so...I had to floor it too, and what do you know, started rising in heat too. It never went into the read but itwas about 3/4 up, so I slowed down, turned the heat on, and it dropped really quick back to normal, then slowly creaped back up when I turned the heat off. Maybe I'm tring to blead the lines out wrong. What Ido is open the cap, and fill it all up, then start my car and let it run like 30 sec, and see if any bubbles come up, if they do I add more fluid in. Am I doing it wrong?

replace stock head BOLTS with ARP head studs and torque the head correctly and never have this problem again.

My car did the exsact same thing. Its the head gasket.

The reason it likes to over heat is b/c the high cyl. presures start to "lift" head during boost.

Your current head could be warpped from this, so get it checked before re-installing same head.
If the bolts on one side of the engine were still "ok" and the other side had some " not so ok" bolts, then only one side would "lift" and warp the head. Its not likely, but it happens.

Hondas run REALLY cool vs almost any other simular motor ( and I'm not totally a "honda guy"), so if its over heating, 90% of the time its the head gasket.

Checking the "dumb stuff" is important, but if its not the water pump, thermostat, or fans, then its the head gasket ( unless by some extremly small chance you made 400hp on the stock sleeves without planning to ).

The head studs are great "peiece of mind" even if nothing is "wrong" with the stock bolts, plus they are only $90. My HMT is one of the "ghetto-est" HMTs I've ever seen, but I even popped for the studs ( makes lining the head up A LOT easier too ).

^^^^^^
that just about sums it all up man.

I would say cooling fan at low speeds but sounds like pressures at high speeds (high revs)

you not only beat me, you wrote 3 times more then i would have. I'm getting lazy in my old age.. I used to give everyone a page, now I try and sum things up in one or two words.

not to mention I have a lot of stuff to review, I just don't have time to cherry pick threads anymore and skip the majority (well I do in hybrid/tech).

Yea, I'm "nightshift" so I tend to get on at 4am and punch-out about 30 "run-on" sentences, when 3 sentences would have worked... I guess I'm bored/lonely b/c my daughter and wife are sleeping... SEE Doing it again !!! ( what a loser, hehe ).
