overheating on highway ** PROBLEM SOLVED**

Re:overheating on highway
I would also turn the temperature controls to "HOT" all the way and open the radiator cap. Start the motor and let it warm up completely. Fill it with water as you can. Hopefully you won't be seeing any bubbles while you do this. Also check for hot/cold spots on the radiator when it's hot.

It never went into the read but itwas about 3/4 up, so I slowed down, turned the heat on, and it dropped really quick back to normal, then slowly creaped back up when I turned the heat off. Maybe I'm tring to blead the lines out wrong. What Ido is open the cap, and fill it all up, then start my car and let it run like 30 sec, and see if any bubbles come up, if they do I add more fluid in. Am I doing it wrong?

Re:overheating on highway
ok, I opened the nozzle up and a few bubbles came out, very few, put a little more fluid it, and opened it again, then went for a drive. It ran at normal temp on highway for about 5 mins again. It started to rise just at 1/2 way or a little above 1/2 way, but stayed there. So I boosted up to 105mph and it raised up to 3/4 but right when I let off the gas and started slowing down, the temp gauged went down too. It's never actually gone into the red, because I'm watching it like a hawk, but it's running warmer than I like. The outside temp is only 73*, so its not that hot out. as for the head gasket bolts, why again would it be that? I never did anything internally with my engine, just slapped the turbo on.

Re:overheating on highway
The head gasket can blow out of nowhere, boost or not, taking the engine apart or not, overheated ot not. It just happens, but since you are boosting it's more likely.
I'm not saying you have a blown head gasket, I'm just commenting on your question:

yes, I had the nozzle open for like 1- 1.5 mins, it wasn't a steady stream, just oozzzing out. also, when head gasket is blow, wouldn't it over heat in town too, and it's not neccesarily overheating, just running warmer than it usually does.

Re:overheating on highway
i would leave it open a little longer than that, when i did my turbo i had an unexpected leak and after fixing it took me about 5-6mins or more to get all of it out, you want a pretty good steady flow coming out of that nipple, its possible to overheat while on a good accelleration b/c it could be forcing the coolant out of the head

Re:overheating on highway
I really doubt that its the head gasket, it just doesn't seem like that. I just took it out again, after bleading it agian, 3rd time, and I ran it on the highway for about 12 mins b/f it started going up, It only went up to 1/2 way and stayed there for another 5 mins, then it went up to just over half way, still not OVERHEATINGjust hotter than normal driving conditions. In all these situations I'm only crusing at 75mph. maybe i just need to keep on bleading it out, over and over.
