Ok so I finally got my turbo setup together and on my car this weekend. Got the ECU chipped and that's all good. But now my computer won't connect to my Ostrich. I have all my com ports setup properly, I downloaded and installed the drivers from Moates.net and I'm all out of ideas. I know that it won't load anything onto the ECU without the key turned but I should still be able to load my .bin to the ostrich without it being hooked up to the car correct? So when I try to load my .bin or even test the connection to the ostrich it times out and I get the message that it tried 3 times but couldn't connect.

Could someone please let me know why this is happening?

recheck com ports and get any updates for your computer available.

the ostrich doesnt need to be connected to ---- (other than the laptop) to load to it.

i kept getting the same problem, it was that the port coms werent setup right. i found the awnser by searching on pgmfi.org but i cant find it right now... try SEARCHING there...

Yup, COM ports and rarely advanced COM settings do the trick.

i had the same problem as well..i went in and changed the com ports for both my datalogging cable and ostrich hookup in the pc..and the same in BRE(which i use) or whatever program your using..and magically it worked...

I tried searching and all I could find was the com port thing. I have a new laptop coming in the mail tomorrow so I will try that and hopefully it will work.

Both the com port setting in crome settings and the device manager are set to com4 so it should be working.

For the Ostrich or the datalogging cable? What are the port speeds under advanced settings?

Its for the ostrich and the port speeds are set to 9600bps.... hmm... Its supposed to be higiher then that isn't it...

Nope still nothing. I have everything set the exact same from the device manager to crome and still nothing. It still times out. I think that I'll just wait for the new laptop to come and try that.
