Oil line from oil pump housing?

Oil line from oil pump housing?
I've noticed some oil line kits (none on here) now include a fitting for unscrewing that ... plug.. on the back of side of the engine on the oil pump housing. Then you thread in the new dingus and run the line from that.
Any feelings on that? I'm not sure if D series even have that there.. I know F/H/B series do.

there is the adapter in question. it is for D series as well I found out and is made by Z10 Engineering. That is a 1/8 NPT inside it.

the port's present on my D16A6 but it's pretty close to the alternator. as i recall the port's only a source for unfiltered oil - not ideal for turbos. use it for an oil pressure gauge maybe?
