Default oil feed/return line questions

ok guys.....ive read a lot of the info in the FAQ regarding oil feed/return lines...and im still confused. all the things ive read involve AN fittings and braided stainless line....frankly that ---- is to expensive for me right now... is there a cheaper way to plumb all the oil lines? if so, can someone please list all the fittings and lines that i'd need?

i appreciate any help

The only confusing part about oil lines is the names of the fittings and hose sizes (an-4/npt/bspt/ect..) It's hard to explain. I don't even know if I could word it to where it would make sense.

why explain when you can just draw pictures

I can explain some of it.

NPT is your general thread pattern.

BSPT is the ---- they use. kind goes w/ the metric system i believe.

-3AN...basically its a 45 degree fitting of a 1/8" NPT...if that makes any sense. -4AN=1/4" and so on..

Basically my picture tells you exactly what you need for a feed line. the only thing is the last adapter to the turbo might need to be a -3AN->1/4" NPT. Other than that its not rocket surgery.

an-4 is the size (thickness) of the hose

npt= thread size (compare to standard tools)

bspt= thread size (compare to metric tools)

an-4 just happens to fit perfectly w/ 1/4" and an-3 just happens to fit perfectly w/ 1/8" :P

Feedline Kit:

1-1/8" BSPT Male to 1/8" NPT Female

1-1/8" NPT Street Tee

1- 1/8" Thinger

1- -3AN SS hose

1- 1/8" NPT male to 1/8" or 1/4" SAE 45 Degree Flare

----, and that's just the feed line. (somewhat)
This is why I try not to explain it.
Even if he figures that out, he'll still need a drain line. I don't know which one is more complicated.

why don't you just buy one of those pimp *** feed/drain kits that were going this site awhile back? forgot who was selling them but it was alot easier then trying to figure out what npt/bspt/wtf/-4an fittings you need.
