ok listen here it goes No2 is an inert gas but inert gases doesnt mean itis not flamable it just means that there is a smaller chance of it catching fire and O2 is a dump idea but i do unstand where this guy is coming from maybe shooting the air not compressed amounts of oxygen but air through the in take tube to the throttle body maybe that ws the idea, dont know, but if it is done like that the map sensor would have to much pressure on it to not set a fault in the ECU.... pushing air would be the right idea like NOS just forcing the air to get cooler but oxygen would not be that cold to get that far on the track or street,,,, NOS great, O2 great but if it is not pure and compressed...

I have never heard anyone sound that smart, with that bad of grammer. Hey THRESHOLD, was that answer one big misspelled sentence or were the periods and capitol letters "invisible"?

um, actually, "inert" means it doesn't react with anything at all. no fire. no bubbles. no mad scientist laugh, no clown suit... well, you get the idea. nitrous oxide is about as far from inert as you can get. this is why gases like argon (which actually IS inert) are used in welding- it acts as a shield to prevent air from coming in contact with the weld and contaminating it by reacting with the metal at high temperature.

There was one guy back in the sixties that played with pure oxygen injection on a Mustang, it went crazy fast, like nine seconds flat on a stock engine, but NHRA banned him from the track for using it, to dangerous. I dont remember all the facts but I do remember reading the story in a book about wierd car stuff, like TV Tommy Ivos four engine dragster and the Hemi under glass car, any one ever seen that thing? A rear engine Baracuda with a 426 Hemi, it did wheel stands the length of the track.
