Wow thats a very simplified break down. I've been lurking a little while and I am shocked people even had that type of question (you could have figured out most of that stuff from reading www.howstuffworks.com). My noob question I guess is a little more involved than the stuff the OP went over.
I am still baffled by turbo maps and how to read them, also the I could use some clarification on the A/R ratio. I know it effects how fast the turbo spools but I'de like to get some more info.

Think about what happens to a gaseous fluid that moves from a large port to a smaller port gradually.

how about someone with a more broad knowledge attempt to put up stock injectors and flow rates form various vehicles. i could do a few, but im talking on the scale of what ol guy did with the stock turbos and stock w/g settings. that would be very beneficial to alot of people.

i was reading about tuning.. what is an ostirch? or how ever you spell it...and what do people mean by "burning a chip"?? i want to run crome on my jdm dohc zc motor, but it uses obd0 and idk tooo much about all that...maybe someone can help me out?
