ok i was thinking about using a used t3 but i figured why not look into new ones. used ones from my local junk yards are all 100 bux unless i could get one with a 5 finger discount. i was looking at a local speedshops turbo and its a t3 60 trim but its a revhard imitation. so would i b better off getting the used one. it almost seems like the used one would b manufactured better but im not sure. i made sure it wasnt ssauto chrom stuff and she said theres no brand.

 

There is a good chance both will need rebuilt in a few thousand miles :P I' d run a used turbo over a knock off brand, just by the cheap used garrett turbo and put the money you saved towards buying a new/re-built brand name turbo

I've been running my "XS power" TD04 now for 5 months with no problems. Maybe its because i'm running an oil restrictor? who knows but dont automatically assume that a knock off turbo is gonna ---- on you, mine hasn't and i love the spool time.

 

Just my thoughts but if the main part of the turbo kit is the turbo why skimp on it? I'd rather Buy garrett and support USA and not crappy CDM knock offs..how often do you hear about problems with name brand turbos other than normal ageing issues such as seals...

 

I guess it all comes down to money and liking. I got the turbo for next to nothing so thats why i'm running it. Yeah if i can find a good deal on a garrett i would jump on it. :P

 

I installed a XS power/SSautopoop T3 .42 .48 on a customers car and no problems so far.Use a oil restrictor though.Still a gamble so if you can afford it at all buy a good one instead.
