Default new to turbos... again

well i've sold my ls and threw in my old obd1 dohc zc.

right now i have a t25 turbo, hf manifold and the down pipe.
i went to the yard today and found myself a riced out 1g eclipse and right away i popped the hood, all stock/rebuilt i think.

what are the usable parts from the 1g that i can use for my 91 civic?
is the td05h turbo better than my current t25?

It's all your preference the t25 is going to spool real fast but a 14b definatly pulls harder with a little more lag. I would go with the 14b it definatly won't dissapoint.

okay so i went back to the junkyard and the sight of some clueless idiots taking the turbo apart, pissed me off. they basically couldn't afford it so they fucked it up. all i was able to get was the bov.. they hammered the turbo, made mud and threw it in the compressor wheel.. the injectors was also hammered. anyway.

is there anyway for me to buy a new compressor wheel for my t25 from the 2g eclipse? i noticed that i have a couple nicks on it but no shaft play.

also, is it possible to use the "cool" side of a 16g on my t25?

thank you

Yeah I'm pretty sure you can buy a compressor wheel but how much it costs and bow readily availabe they are is something I don't know. But the lag on a 14b definatly isn't that bad to point where I would want to make a hybrid. They are real cheap to maybe cheaper than buying a new turbine.

I am using the DSM T25 but I am modifying it with a Nissan T25 60 trim compressor. It flows 25 lb min where the DSM maxes out at 20 lb min. Basically it will give you more top end The compressor wheel I am referencing will cost you less then $30 but you will have to get the DSM compressor housing modified. They spool quick but a stock DSM T25 will make roughly 225hp and that is pushing it pretty hard.

Want more info about it PM me.

Hi es.roadster!

Bummer about the junkyard car. I had similar experiences at my local yard. If you see something, buy it that day cause it probably wont be there long.

mhamrick gave some good info. If you do change the wheel, make sure you have everything balanced. Ive heard good things about Turbo City - Rock-It Parts for balancing.
