Default turbo customization question about spool rates

currently i'm using a t3 at 12psi from a saab on my stock b18b and it's choking out a bit at higher rpms and could use a little more airflow from the compressor.

i also have a big stage V t04 ptrim turbo sitting around, but it spooled pretty slow (4k) on my car and i didn't like it. so here are my thoughts on options....

1. take the t3 and put the .57 trim t04 compressor on it, and grind away at the turbine housing to create a bigger gap between the turbine wheel and housing to slow spool a little and let it reach higher rpms

2. use the big turbo, with the t3 water cooled center, and block off one of the ports (it's a divided flange turbo) forcing the gasses through a smaller hole making it spool faster, and it should reach higher rpms cause the housing is still big on the inside.

please let me know which you think would provided a better result. and i have thought of just getting another turbo but i'd rather work with what i have for now. thanks
