I love it! I've always wanted to do a Beemer of that vintage. I have a Volvo to do before anything else, and possibly a Galant coming up, but I will be doing an old school BMW one of these years. I'm just getting awesome at welding now and will start doing some badass projects. Keep us updated! Are you just in the planning stages still or are you gathering parts?
