I just got done rebuilding my motor, its a B18a with eagle rods, and srp pistons with acl rod and main bearings,and i got a B16a head and i got a t4 turbo boosting like 8psi, And with 450cc DSM injectors with inline resistors, with a safc2. I hear a little knowcking sound until i get to about 2 1/2 thousand RPM's. Is that good or bad? or is that just because i still have to break the motor in?

 

sure i got the mains torqued down to spec?

does it go away once the engine is warm?

did you have the cylinders honed?

 

no it dosent go away and it 20 over now so yeah it ben honed

 

mine with spr pistons knocks like a disel(sp?) when it was N/A and it still makes that noise if i am not boosting.
once it hit boost and heats up, the noise is compeletely gone until it cools back dwon.

 

take a screw driver, phillips, and put the tip to the motor in different spots and then put your ear to the handle , like right up against the handle. It will allow you to hear the engine noises better.

you can play with that and it might help you with finding yer knock

if the knock goes away at higher revs then it's most likely a mating of parts issues. Hey Jeff any of those honda blocks u threw together ever knock?

how long have you been driveing like that

 

i put je pistons in and it knocks in low rpms

then again im not getting alot of oil pressure so who knows
