I think that's a step in the wrong direction, seeing as how you already own the Mustang. The LS1s make more out of the box but the drivetrain is fragile compared to what you currently have. Also, OBD2 emissions isn't your friend, and everything attached to those cars are somewhat expensive. The Mustang you have now can be easily and cheaply tweaked via the J3 port, and most places turn their heads if she lumps a little or doesn't have cats.

The value difference between your Mustang and an LS1 car is more than a mild 351W swap would set you back, including the Cobra R hood you'd need for it. It'd also be a lot faster, and not have 100K on the motor.
