Re: NEON Turbo Fuel Management ?

Do what jeff did on the turbo kia. use check valves for the map and get a stand alone injector controller to use only under boost with aditional injectors. I don't undeerstnad why people don't do this mre, its not that complicated, maybe the injector controler s expensive?

plenty of turbo kits come with fmu's and many cars run them . I used one for half a year at 5psi with no problems

cant u take the ecu to the dodge dealer and have them burn you a new map or something like that. i had a friend who had a fully built neon that was all motor and he had it done that way. but he said there was some sort of aftermarket ecu he couldve also used but i dont recall if he said it was tuneable with a laptop or how you used it.

No, the dodge dealership can only update the pcm.
You can get the mopar pcm which adds a higher rev limit, more spark advance, doesn't look for egr....
Or the af/x, which adds an even higher rev limit, no egr, no downstream o2, desensitized knock sensor, blah blah blah

Neither good for turbo, they lean out the a/f and add timing.

The neon pcm can only use a 1 bar map sensor, ie -14.7psi to vaccum. No boost for the neon pcm.
The srt and pt cruiser turbo pcms are totally different, and set up for the 2003+ 2.4l blocks which use a crankshaft sensor in a different spot, and the pattern is not the same. So they're a no go unless you have a 2003+ block.

Neon people don't have massive problems with fmus, and using a afc is the worst bandaid ever.

Yeah, I think I forgot to add that. Good call. :)

AEM...Any high power neon I've seen has had some sort of aftermarket EMU.

He said he bought a Mopar ECU that apparently "tunes itself" Not exactly sure and never really heard of it... It did put him out $500 so I have no idea. I doubt it but I dunno...
