NEON Turbo Fuel Management ?
I'm trying to help out a friend who is boosting his Neon... No its not an SRT-4. I'm not too familiar with the who Neon ecu deal or fuel management. Does anyone know whats the best fuel management for a boosted Neon? Any help is appreciated...
Thanks. |
Re: NEON Turbo Fuel Management ?
What about megasquirt? Do any neon guys use that?

Re: NEON Turbo Fuel Management ?
Theres always the fmu. I seen a local kid run 5psi on just a fmu in a double cam neon.

Re: NEON Turbo Fuel Management ?
i think that the cavalier and the neon ecu's are the same. am i right?
|
Re: NEON Turbo Fuel Management ?
Im not certain. I have lots of reading to do about it. Well FMU isnt the best on forged internals and defateinly above 7psi of boost.

Neon guys have been using a rising rate fuel pressure regulator combined with a modded fuel pump for years. aka the spoolboy mod. http://www.fwdmopar.com/sites/dennis/PLfuelmods.html And there is megasquirt. A few neon guys are using it with success. Do a search on neons.org http://www.neons.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=205510 The portfueler is pretty new. http://www.hahnracecraft.com/auto/en...0injectors.htm And that's it. Personally, I would try and get the megasquirt working. It's my plan for this year. |

Re: NEON Turbo Fuel Management ?
I was doing a search on neons.org earlier... I dunno my friend said he bought some $500 ecu and it was supposed to fuel management for boost, but I havent dont enough research on this...

Re: NEON Turbo Fuel Management ?
Do what jeff did on the turbo kia. use check valves for the map and get a stand alone injector controller to use only under boost with aditional injectors. I don't undeerstnad why people don't do this mre, its not that complicated, maybe the injector controler s expensive?

Re: NEON Turbo Fuel Management ?
SAFC maybe?

Re: NEON Turbo Fuel Management ?
plenty of turbo kits come with fmu's and many cars run them . I used one for half a year at 5psi with no problems

Re: NEON Turbo Fuel Management ?
cant u take the ecu to the dodge dealer and have them burn you a new map or something like that. i had a friend who had a fully built neon that was all motor and he had it done that way. but he said there was some sort of aftermarket ecu he couldve also used but i dont recall if he said it was tuneable with a laptop or how you used it.

You can get the mopar pcm which adds a higher rev limit, more spark advance, doesn't look for egr.... Or the af/x, which adds an even higher rev limit, no egr, no downstream o2, desensitized knock sensor, blah blah blah Neither good for turbo, they lean out the a/f and add timing. The neon pcm can only use a 1 bar map sensor, ie -14.7psi to vaccum. No boost for the neon pcm. The srt and pt cruiser turbo pcms are totally different, and set up for the 2003+ 2.4l blocks which use a crankshaft sensor in a different spot, and the pattern is not the same. So they're a no go unless you have a 2003+ block. Neon people don't have massive problems with fmus, and using a afc is the worst bandaid ever. |

safc work like ---- on 420a's ..if it is a 420a ... 2.0 dohc ... id go with dsmtuners.com and see what the non turbo eclipse and talon owners are doing... also 2gnt.com is a good 420a website (my buddy owned a n-t eclipse that why i know this ----)

Re: NEON Turbo Fuel Management ?
AEM...Any high power neon I've seen has had some sort of aftermarket EMU.

Re: NEON Turbo Fuel Management ?
He said he bought a Mopar ECU that apparently "tunes itself" Not exactly sure and never really heard of it... It did put him out $500 so I have no idea. I doubt it but I dunno...
