need help car running rough up to 3000 rpm
I have a 92 prelude f22a1, garret t-3, running 9psi, aem fuel rail 450cc injectors, and s-afc, also funning check valves, this problem just started happening 2 days ago, It has a rough idle and sounds like it wants to stall out, I give it gas it's really bogy and rough to about 3000 rpm than turbo spools and its fine from 3000, to redline. also theres lots of black smoke when its bogy, than no smoke from 3000 to redline, when I start the car the a/f is in the green than slowly goes from green to red ,than you can't see it, but the car don't knock, I didn't change anything it just started doing this. I was thinking may a map sensor, or maybe an o2 sensor , afc is 16,16,16,15,15,14,13,13 for both high and low thanks
Black smoke huh? Black is fuel. And you say your AF is in the red? Whats red? And whats green? Stoich and Lean? The AF gives a more accurate reading when it's warmed up, so that may be no big deal.

Step #1. REMOVE THE CHECK VALVES!They are no needed.
Step #2. Change the AFC settings to something a bit lower. When you say " 16,16,16,15,15,14,13,13" do you mean "+16,16,16,15,14,13,13"? or minus? Either way it is WAY too rich. Your A/F gauge is not the best tning tool in the world. Set at least the low throttle to around -35 and see what happens. I wouldn't suggest any high rpm/boost pulls until you get this figured out.

should have givein a little better detail, green is rich, and red is lean. the afc settings are minus, I had the turbo on the car for a month no problems, but when I first had the turbo on I cruise down the highway in 4th gear at 3000 rpm the engine light would come on and the car would run rich when the engine light was on,, than that problem stopped. I know the a/f meter is not the best thing to use, but when the car was runnign good, it was high side of stoich and low side of rich. and now it goes from all green than slowly goes to red than off the meter, where it reads noting, and when the car is at idle you can see the black smoke coming out of teh tail pipe, and when I rev it the car is really slugish to about 3200 and I have a lot of black smoke, and than turbo kick in and it runs fine no smoke at all, if I drive the car above3000 ,3500 it runs great. I checked for vaccum leaks, I reset teh ecu, reset the afc, should the low and high idle be the same? and is -35 rich or lean? thanks guys
