Re: My winter upgrades

I do it myself. I did have it tuned by LSE in the past, but now a days I just do it myself. It will be up on DB's dyno next month though just to see what kind of numbers it's putting down!

I brought the car in last Thursday to get my new clutch/tranny installed. I'm running out of time to do some of this crap myself. Anyhow, should be getting the car back tonight. I'll be breaking in the clutch/tranny over the next few days, and then hopefully after that I can get some ripper vids.

Re: My winter upgrades

Well I'd say my clutch and tranny are broken in enough to start having fun again. I did give my Throttle Body to someone to replace the seals in them as I was worried it was leaking. I should be getting that back this weekend, and then I can start ripping around again.

I also got an elbow welded onto my compressor cover to replace the coupler I was using. The fitment was real shitty the old way I had it setup, so the couplers kept blowing off during 30psi pulls. With the elbow on, everything fits a lot better now. Plus using a 9" piece of Napa Truck radiator hose helped so everything could just kinda bend into place now. It may not be ideal to have that long of a coupler, but ---- it because it'll work, and everything just fits much better now. :)

Also I went on a powder coating spree last night, and did up a new valve cover for me that I'm real happy with!!

Got the new TB on. Reset the idle and all that little stuff today. Let the car idle for 30 minutes and it was idlling like a champ. Went 3 blocks to fill her up with some E85, and got a car wash. I was driving it normally, never really went over 1/2 throttle even. Made it half way home and, well, I think a picture's worth a thousand words.

Well figured I'd add some updates. Here's some better pictures of the carnage. Apparently I valve broke and fell into the cylinder. Still have no idea what the root cause for the valve breaking off was though.

Bottom of the head, note the missing valve:

Those pics were taken awhile back. Fast forward to now, the car is back up and running. Too bad it's winter though. Been talking to the local shop and hope to get it up on their dyno come March/April and put down some decent power. I'll make sure to update this with a dyno sheet once I have one to share.
