my turbo project started !
so here we go.
i dont get alot of free time , i work alot , so this project will take about 3-4 months and i will keep it updated.
one thing i need to say before i start... I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING no troll please. my job is related to that anyway. i may have a question or two as i never had to work with a part or something tho.
the project is to turbo my X3 ( 1999 ) accent and my brother LC2 ( 2003 ) accent.
both share the same engine , 1.5L sohc 12v , G4EKX.
mine is original 301 360 km
my brother is 192 000km and we don't know if its original or have been changed.
lets start for mine.
will get 8 psi of boost stock internal no tune only a FMU.
as i'm a DIY freak i will not buy piping. i will make my own with standard exhaust tube.
my brother one will have the same set-up but next year will get scoupe turbo piston and connecting rod for 12-15 psi.
so for now i got both turbo.
t3t4
.50 A/R compressor
.48 A/R exhaust
they are chinacharger but like i said i know what i'm doing.
i installed over 8 of them.
the trick is to get the right oil restrictor and they will last.
anyway
there some pic of when i got them and over both engine.
that's all for now.
if you have question i will answer

for timing it is ok for 10-11 psi.
thanks for the advice anyway

timing = automatic on those engine.
it can adjust itself.
as i will running 8 psi i don't need to touch this.
not the best , sure , but work without big risk.
if i was running 10+ psi , well , thats another story !

Yes I would be interested in this as well...
Forget running more than a few psi (5-6) without some form of control, intercooling, cool burning fuel (E85) or water injection; In summer heat or a bad tank of fuel under boost could be disastrous.
Of course you can drown your combustion chamber with fuel to keep combustion temperatures down (and spark knock), but it will not run as well as it should.
It befuddles me, its not bad to be cheap, but to be cheap for cheap sake Especially with cars, I am sure you don't like down time. There is no off the shelf tuning solution specifically for older Hyundai's, but you can pick up old blue Greddy Emanage fairly cheap, I see them for under $150 on Ebay all the time.
I'm fairly sure Accent's are Speed Density. Sure the engine will pull timing (and power) when it detects knock. The POINT WE'RE MAKING is you don't have to knock and still get the power you desire.
As the saying goes, cheap + fast seldom go together.
Most people have seen knock at anything above 5-6psi on formerly N/A cars without any intercooler and no way to control spark. This engine is 10:1 out of the factory, you have basically two choices.
Drop the compression ratio which I'm not totally in favor of, but its quick and dirty especially if you can stack head gaskets or buy a thicker one.
Run an intercooler, it can be cheap, like a side mount from a 1G DSM.
You're fuel will be all over the place and there is no disputing that. You'll be leaving who knows how much on the table because you either can't or won't spend more for a proper tuning solution.
Good luck, I've seen a few turbocharged, even a twin-charged Accent...

it will have a intercooler and FMU wich every shop told me its OK for that setup ( 8 psi , can handle 10 but will not work as for 8 ).
for summer heat.... the final setup will be funning when it will be around 15C outdoor.
i know the engine will blow... but may blow after i get rid of. i dont plan to run it after this winter and this is why i go cheaper as possible.
my futur car , a 2003 elantra GT i will put QUALITY parts ( only a china charger maybe because i know what to do ) with SMT-6 and everything
for a small update... im selling those 2 monster turbo because i ordered .50ar comp/.48AR turbine but they shipped MONSTER .70AR comp/.63AR turbine.
cost 420 i ask 250 for both or 150 each. they are both NEW only one spooled 2 mintue for a fast test , when i discoverer the mistake they did.
i just ordered CXRACING ( reputed ) T28 turbo .42AR comp/.48AR turbine.
i will update when i receive them with pic.

there some i never found so i bought something to replace and would work.
here the CX RACING T28 turbo
t25/t28 flange + studs + nuts
replacement parts i found because i wasnt able to find better one
oil restrictor... this ---- cost 20$ no joke proof if needed hehe
