Hey guys,

Ive been gettin some smokin from my exhaust lately, so i pulled off my 14B. The smoke was a white grey and not thick like coolant would be. The hot side blades looks fine, but i had oil in my charge pipes, BOV, and even in the turbo inlet. I removed the housing on the hot side and pour some oil in the oil DRAIN. I tiled the turbo and spun the blades while holding the plate, and after a min or so oil began to drip from between the blades and plate. I seriously doubt this is normal, but i would like some opinions. Is the Rear piston ring out?

just sounds like another worn out 14b...id rebuild it or get something bigger..

you gotta think about things like this cause 14b turbos are getting to be really old now these day..even the t2 smalls off the 2nd gen dsm...these things are 10 years old and then some...so its more than likely leaking a small bit of oil...if you want just rebuilt it...its prolly cheaper than getting a new turbo.

yea, thing is, this was rebuilt when i got it. However i now found out that its been rebuilt 2 times before, and it had a problem with the rear piston ring sitting or somethin. i need a cheap 16g

 

yup, time to find a 16g on dsmtrader.

 

ok, what would u guys recommend payin for a 16g

 

75 cents. I highly recommend paying that much, its almost as good as free.
