What model diesel is this off of? Those mid 80s S class ones?? Been a while since I've touched a benzo.

 

It's in the 80s. I am not sure of the class. The cooler is bolted to the radiator on the right side facing the car.

 

I would have to guess somewhere in the 500 S class.. take a pic before you start hacking it up (if you end up buying it). I feel like getting one just to cool oil (if the price is right of course).

Are you referring to plumbing the oil coolant lines thru the radiator ports (like where the auto trans fluid is supposed to route thru)?

Yeah, great idea except it doesn't really cool, it just keeps it at the operating temp of the motor. Why do you think that transmission shops go crazy about installing SEPERATE oil coolers for the transmission oil, and tell you "if you overheat, do a fluid/filter chage"

 

lol, sorry you had to type all that out, I wasn't telling you to do that, what a meant was, just get a rad, and use it for a oil cooler. pimpin styles.
