here is a great trick to make that car get out the whole. Use a automatic rear and retard the timing as much as possible just by turning the distributor. I had a 85 turbo automatic and me and my buddy converted to 5speed and and all I had done was k&n filter gutted cat retarted the timing and I ran 13.6 at 104mph so with ur setup u should be well in the 12's if not better

I dont mean to be an ***...but you'll have to post time slips for me to believe that run.
On a stock turbo 300 engine, a K&N filter will only raise your power by a wopping 10 hp and increase torque by 4 pounds.
And being that a stock turbo 85z 22 years ago ran the 1/4 mile in 15.7 seconds...I really doubt the gutted cat doubled the hp needed to make that time.
I'll never see 12s. One guy who is making 11.5second runs has completely rebuilt his engine and has been shooting for well over 700hp. http://racingsouthwest.com/forums/in...ODE=12&CID=808
So, thanks for the tips...but If I retard the timing, it definitely wont be for power, it will be for the opposite reasons and to avoid detonation.
