my dyno numbers at 3 psi, lol

Re:my dyno numbers at 3 psi, lol
ya ya the ecotec makes less power but I bet it doesnt throw rod bearings like my friends 99 Z24 (ld9).
He has had the motor either rebuilt or replaced 6 times in 1.5 years (all warranty). 3rd actual block, 2 rebuils PER block and they end up knockin. This newest motor is a newer one i think and it's lasted 10k so far. BTW he doesnt drive like an ***. and the 3rd time the motor didnt spin a rod bearing sorry, it CRACKED THE CRANK IN HALF!
But ya, they have nice power, when they work

stock specs are 150hp, 155tq at the crank. 120ish at wheels. yeah, i dont blame you guys for not believeing me. i bout ---- my pants when those number came up. bosot gauge does work correctly though, ive checked the line many times and even swapped in other boost gauges, and they read the exact same thing mine was. the turbo isnt all i have done, but its the major thing. id say if you count in the other ----, and a stock auto dynos at 118-119, so if i figure in maybe 5-10 for the other ---- done (prob not even near that though), thats 125-130 at wheels.. that would equate to a 50-55hp gain at the wheels resulting in 16.7-18.3 gain per lb of boost. i though that was insain too, but the gauge is accurate and thats what the dyno came up with and damn near to every other pull. ill check to see if my scanner is working, hopefully it is. ill get the graph up in a few min. assuming my scanner is working.

sweet, scanner works here for you bastards that think id make it up:
for those wondering why theres no power up til 4100rpm, thats because the way he drove it was hed drive it normal through first and second. shifted into third, got to like 50 or 70 mph (dont remember which, floor it (my tourqe converter looks up around 3.5-4 grand when you suddenly floor it) then took it to 105mph and shut it down which was always around bout 6300ish rpm (redline is 6500) but yeah, so there ya go for you nonbelievers. :P

First of all, chassis dynos can be such bullshit sometimes if you apply the right (wrong) correction factors and calibration. Second of all, let me assure you that drivetrain loss is NOT a fixed percentage, not even close because there are some fixed losses, that are not really proportional to the power you're making.
A powerful car will have a less percentage drivetrain loss than a low power car with the same drivetrain.

i think i stand corrected but i still have a hard time trusting that. I mean i'll beleive it if it were like 5 or 6 psi but only 3?? you have like 155 horsepower(auto)so your making like around 130-120 wheel horsepower. I might believe your probably making 180 hp not wheel horsepower. I dont know its just weird

Matt,
Nice numbers i'd have to say myself they seem way high for 3 psi on our engines. Your car was never a freak that i was aware of like some others....
I still think something is up with your gauge (i know you tried another one) but maybe its not getting the correct reading. I seriosuly think your running more pressure than that because you said you even clipped your injectors. Injectors shouldnt slip at 3 psi...... at least i woudlnt think so.
Still nice numbers, i too just happen to doubt the actual psi your running regardless of what the gauge is showing.
