New built setupB16 turbo

I'm about to biult a new B16a turbo setup. Here is the list

DA6 XSi with a B16
S1 tranny
Exceddy Upgraded clutch
450cc DSM Injectors
Garrett M24 0.60a/r turbo
Custom LOg type manifold
2.5" piping
FMIC
FPR
BOV

I will rebuilt my b16 with PR4 pistons and im looking to boost around 12/13psi with a 30/40shot NOS. let me know if my setup seems right.
Do i need to get Block guard for this setup??? PR4 would give me around 8.5 compression thats p[retty good for high boost application.
Does it seems ok?
Will post the pics soon

Keep the stock PR3 pistons get the .045 cometic head gasket and you'll have a 9.7:1 CR you will be fine for 12 psi with a good tune. Also, ditch the NOS as it is not needed nor is the block guard because unless you install it professionally it is useless and will do more damage than good.
Let me put it to you this way. I will be running 18psi from a bigger turbo on a semi-built (Forged rods and pistons) B16 with no block guard and it will hold up infact many people boost B16's to 20 psi without using a block guard.

For the record. built and PR4 should not be in the same sentence. There is nothing built about your engine, youre just putting in shitty cast piston from another engine to reduce the compression ratio for no apparent reason since you can get away with 12 psi from that tiny turbo on a stock CR B16.

I say the Pr4's are a good idea if the motors already in need of rings or new pistons.

DUDE!
im going to open up the block anyway. and the reason y im looking forward to put in PR4 piston is to lower the compression i just cant get the cosmetic headgaskit :(. cuz its not avaliable easily here in pakistan.
but i can easily go for PR4 pistons to lower the compression :)

So by ur suggestions im concluding that, i dont have to put in a blockguard!! ill be fine with the bone stock block with PR4 pistons.

Some more questions!!
1. Which rods are the best PR3??? or PR4???
2. Whats the thickness of cosmetic headgaskit???? before pressing and after being pressed??

Im going to run NOS anyway just to cool down the temp and have a little fun :)

pr3 and pr4 rods are diffrent u have to use the b16 rods and get the pr4 pistons pressed on them.

I ran a b16 with pr4 pistons and a holset hy35 at 22psi :6

@88dx
22psi???
what was the setup??? u had a built block??? sleeved??
how does the HY35 spoolsup? when do u get full boost?? whats ur rev limiter set at???
waiting for ur answer :)

I just want to know how in the ---- you are going to bolt this onto a camel.

We can easily bolt in anything :P

i have to get that cosmetic gaskit ordered and that will take much time and defienly im not going to wait that long when i can get pistons and stuff within no time :P

Sorry did not know you were in Pakistan, in that case if all that is available are the PR4 piston then might as well, I'd still opt for forged but that would probably be also hard to get.
