Default Msd ignition upgrade???

I know a few of you have been following my swap bullshit....For those of you who dont I am boosting a h22a. Anyway, after fixing the injector problem the car has been running great. My problem I am having is based on 2 issues I believe. I know I need to recirculate my wg dump into my dwn pipe or relocate it. My biggest issue Is my igniton breaking up at about 5k or so. I gapped my plugs down to .026 and it helped slightly but it still doing it. I am thinking about installing an sci msd box and coil. My plans are basically running a oem usdm cap which in stock form has an external coil with the msd equipment. Ive heard the jdm h22a disti is garbage...I know u all hate msd boxes but this is all I can think that will help. What was abaz running for his girls h22a stock jdm ----?

All I can say is don't get the SCI. The basic 6a is EXACTLY the same. This even came from the MSD rep himself at the local shop. Yes I heard iot with my own ears. SCI is MSD answers to the Ricer world!!!

Personally I have never works with the MSD 6a. I have worked with the Mallory Equivalent and I love it. I elimenates the need for "Pill" on the revlimiters all dials and switches. It output more powers then the MSD, it is digital, not analog, and overall has better features. You don't need a tach adaptor(although I don't know if you will on a honda). Go to Summit Racing.com and do a product comparison. You'll see for yourself.

You should definatly check your plug wires, cap and rotor... and probably just replace your spark plugs before you just go buy a ignition system. If your still having problems I'd suggest a different distributor.

There are people that will tell you 500hp is possible with stock ignition and that you don't need anything else. Possible, yes, easy, no. It's a pita, you have to gap the plugs waaay down which makes cold start and idle tuning more difficult. Why do it if you don't have to, I say. a 6A box is the way to go because as mentioned above it is identical to the SCI, yet cheaper. Also, a Blaster SS coil with the 6A will work very well towards what you are trying to do. M&W makes a much better ignition box than MSD, but most people won't pay the price.
