Default manual boost controller

hey guys getting back into the turbo stuff and first would like to say i love thsi site and has very good information. but i was wondering can i put a manual boost controller inside my car?? or does it have to be in the engine bay? sorry if this has been covered already or if its a stupid question im a noob to turbos only had one was i was younger and didnt know alot about them. so im pretty much a noob to this again so any help would be great. thanks alot

expensive boost controllers can be mounted in the car but the cheap ---- sits in the engine bay... routing vaccum lines inside the car would make them incredibly long, and you do not want that. go electronic if you need this feature
