I used a bi metal holesaw in a drill press with alot of oil. My flanges are 3/8" and drilling took less that 30 minutes.. Most exhaust ports arent rounf tho.. a die grinder is used to create a transition from oval to round. This is common practice as your tubes will be round anyway...

I am considering buying a welder to try and make my manifold, but I couldnt possibly afford a plasma cutter as well..
also, I am not verry familiar with welding... how many amp welder should I look for to weld the "butt-weld" pipes and what type of welder do you need for stainless?

I looked at that one, but I don't see any way to hook up the gas?? I dont understand how they can call it a "mig" if it doesnt use gas? and why couldnt you weld stainles with it? not enough amps?
