Default Lets talk oil restrictors.

1. They say i dont need one with a journal bearing turbo. I have no idea what my oil pressure is but i'd rather run a restrictor than no restrictor.

2. Would .065" be sufficient on a 14b/t25?

3. Can i run it on the t before the line and achive proper results? I'm running a 1mm restrictor right now. Either the seals on my t25 were already blown or that restrictor was too big.

I'm willing to bet money on my 1/2" return line necking down to a 1/4" barbed fitting on my pan.

What's a nog to do?

I think Stealthmode has cornered the market on restrictor kits. You may wanna PM that little nigglet and see what he can do for you. BTW T25's are ---- and the turbine wheels like to devorce their shafts at high speed.

If you put it before the line you can kiss your turbos bearings goodbye, right at the turbo is the place for that

Just stick a oil pressure gauge in between the restrictor and the turbo, and you'll know excactly what kind of size you need.

Or just go with the .065 like most people seems to do.

x2. 1/4" barbed fitting is small for being part of a return line.

.065" makes a great restrictor. i blew seals on 2 turbos, put one of those on and all has been good for months now

Sweet stubbs!

Hows that wastegate workin' for ya? Using my screamer pipe?

I figured that 1/4" barb fitting was too ------- small.

Would a 5/8"-1/2" be better? I believe that's what size i'm using on the turbo side of the drain system. (5/8'') I've got a 1/2" npt bung on my oil pan. I may just modify a stock oil tube and use an externally threaded peice of 1/2" tubing with some line between the two if possible. I want the biggest i can get but if 5/8" or 1/2" will work, that saves me the headache and i can keep my braided line i paid $20 for.

I've got people throwing 14b's at me on my local dsm site [shameless plug] www.carolinadsm.com [shameless plug/] and if i dont get raped on the price, i'm def picking one up next week.

Any idea how i cracked the ---- out of my hot side though? Between the wastegate flapper and the turbine inlet flange, it's cracked BADLY, like 1-2mm gaps in the cast. I dont see how. It's not like i didn't idle the car before shutting it off. Could the oil have done it?

yea, im using the wastegate and it works perfectly. right now its set for 7psi. i like the versatility of it with all of the springs and shims.
i couldnt use the dump tube for a couple reasons. one is that i already made a downpipe and a reciculating dump in one piece. but also, the way the wastegate sits on my manifold it wouldnt allow it.

for your drain, i wouldnt use anything smaller than 1/2". i use 3/4" but thats just cause it was a premade -an hose that i got from work for free. all of my connections ar -an due to free parts from work. lol
