Default leaky/smokey turbo

okay. i've been having this problem with my turbo for a week or two now. it doesnt smoke on idle or when you drive it nice and easy but when you get on it and then drive it around for awhile, thats when it starts to smoke. i think oil is blowing out the water ports on the turbo and the oil is getting onto my downpipe and i think thats where the smoke is coming from. i do have an oil restrictor though.

i also have the oil return/feed ports angled slightly off center(the oil return probably 100* facing away from the block instead of the usual 90* straight down). i read that if the oil doesnt have a straight path to the pan, then the oil will sit there and leak past the seals. still not sure how its getting to the downpipe.

It doesnt smoke out the back, just under the hood.

any ideas on what i can do to test the turbo?

Ha well there were 3 issues.

1. Leaky oil return(fixed with a shitload of ultra copper gasket sealer)
2. Oil feed line leak(ebay paper gasket it came with was shot and shooting oil at the block. Fixed with a shitload of ultra copper gasket sealer)
3. Oil dipstick wasnt in all the way (yea i know. It contributed to the problem though)

All these three contributed to oil getting onto the downpipe and made it seem that something was on fire under my hood. Seems to be holding up well. I turned the boost up to 10psi and no smoke what so ever.

Mann im glad it wasnt the turbo that was fucked lol.
