Default kitting questions

Alright. Newbie here, be gentle. I'm kitting a turbo setup.
This is for a 98 Accord F23a SOHC. Only a few more pieces missing but I'm stuck.
I have 3 questions.
1. I have a dsm sidemount IC. I would like to put it where the stock intake resonator is. Good idea? bad idea?
2. I need charge piping! How have others done it? Just eyeball which bends I might need?! bonus question: what's the HMT secret to getting a great deal one a set?
3. I need a downpipe! Looks like I'll need to get one fabricated. How have others done this? Am I going to have to drive to a shop, take off my current exhaust manifold, put on the turbo manifold and have them fabricate it there...then put it all back together? Seems like a lot of work. What have you all done? Is it a matter of eyeballing also?

Thanks for any tips/suggestions.

I'm also looking for:
injector clips
BOV with flange (specifically a DSM one...boosting <10 psi....ha!)

I'm nearly done:
T3 Super 60 internally gated
Stealth oil line kit
Some bum f23a1 turbo manifold - hopefully keeps a/c and p/s otherwise gonna have to find another.
DSM sidemount IC
AEM EMS (still trying to get it idling with stock setup :P )
AEM wideband
used oil pan
DSM injectors and resister box

I'm itching to get this thing done.

1. good idea, keep it as far away from heat and get as much airflow to it as you are able to.
2. my secret is home depot 2" rubber u bends, one straight 2" metal conduit pipe, one 90 degree bend 2" conduit pipe. $35 total.
3. i took the stock eclipse downpipe, cut it, and used the flange bolting to the turbo, flexpipe, and flange bolting to cat. used spare 2.25" piping laying around to make bends. eyeballed it, marked it, and spot welded it, then took it to my friend to have him professionally tig weld it (muffler shop can do this if u dont have any friends :P). obviously won't work quite the same for u, but i advise picking up the eclipse downpipe if u can find one ($15 flexpipe isn't too shabby)

mmmmm...... aem ems....

homedepot couplers work, but personally im a fan of doing it in steel.

harder to do if you dont have welder access tho.

If you wanna do it this way, order about 4 180* U-bends. some eyeball and chopsaw action, just kinda go section by section and build your route outta the pieces of the bends, tack em together as you go.

when you have all your pieces tacked up into their shapes, weld em all up and you're golden.

sand smooth and paint em up if you wanna get all fancy schmancy.

2. Do you cut aluminum and steel piping differently? which is preferrable? btw, I have no welding resources...does that mena I have no friends?

3. I'm running with some aftermarket headers. I still have the stock headers in my basement. Is that useful for downpipe material? Figured the last half of it can be used...connecting to the cat.

can some moderater move consolidate these posts to one, I made two on accident.

you can cut both alum and steel with a basic chop saw.

also you can get welders pretty cheap that will do the job. buy one and start practicing, its an ability with a million uses.
