Re:Just got my turbo on!

same ---- happened to me. it just bubbles. maybe you got air bubbles in your cooling system. bleed it and see what happens. my car used to just fill up the overflow tank. and then when i stop. i pour the water back in and its full again. it doesnt lose water. all the water that left the radiator went into the over flow. my headgasket was still cherry. till this day i dont know what it is. my motor took a ---- on me before i could find out. but im guessing air bubbles. bleed the system. there should be a bleeder valve on top of the housing where your top radiator hose goes to. bleed it out and see what happens. i hope this helps u

yea the coolant comes out of the overflow resivior when boosting. I was even up in the h a couple of times :-[. I'm pretty damn sure its the headgasket.

take off the head and see whats up. could be the oddest things. cause ill refill my radiator back up and it'll be okay till i drive for like 30 or 40 mins then it'll start to climb when i come to a stop. its odd. i dont know why its pushing water out of my radiator. like theres too much pressure in the cooling system. like air bubbles or something never go to doing it. since im a lazy ---- but yeah i hope u figure out your problem. good luck!!

Re:Just got my turbo on!

alright now i'm really confused. I took my car out tonight to see how it was running. I started boosting to see if the temp would rise. At first i noticed no rise in temp at all so i got on it hard for a little bit and still no rise. Then i just romped on it for like the next 5 minutes. Still no temperature rise.... Then I decide to go home so i turn into my neighborhood and am driving slow and not boosting at all. All of a sudden my temp gauge just raises all the way to 3/4. WTF is up with this? Shouldn't it just be doing it while I'm boosting?

It's your headgasket...My car didn't overheat, but everytime I boosted above 11psi my overflow tank sprayed coolant everywhere. I was boosting 15 psi when going above 6000 rpm's...
It's deffinately your headgasket if it'sdoing strange like that....there is air in your coolant system now....get the air out and retorque your head....torque it to 58 lb.fft or 60

yea i'm going to try to get the airbubbles out today. I just haven't had much time to fool around with it between school, work, and my gf. I'm gonna retorque the headbolts this weekend.

Re:Just got my turbo on!

mine did exactly what yours did. boost around and everything and no temp rise. until you slow down and drive slower. like what semnos said. get the bubbles out and retorque your head.

Re:Just got my turbo on!

I've never had it happen since boosting, but before that it did do it, ran the car for a little while and it would overheat and start bubling(sp) on the reservoir tank. My problem was a bad rad cap. Cheap fix. I would, if you haven't yet, I didn't read the whole thing, get a new cap, and retorque the head, see what happens.

Re:Just got my turbo on!

thanks for all the help guys. I'm going to retorque the head and all that stuff this weekend. I just haven't had time with work and all...i've just been driving my beater truck around for now. Besides...if i drove my car around all day i'd get pulled over...its open downpipe until i get a flange hooked up to my downpipe and its freaking loud as ----. I tried getting some of the bubbles out today by taking the cap off and letting the car run for about 15 minutes...and i also refilled the radiator with some water. I just didn't have time to let it bleed long enough because i had to run to work.
