Default Just got my turbo on!

Hey guys i'm finally boosted! small wrx turbo, hf manifold, dsm 450's, uberdata, 1gdsm smic, 1gdsm bov, 2.5" dp, etc. I just have one question though. My car is overheating a lot once I start boosting. Also coolant is coming out of my overflow resivour. Anybody know why this is? My car never did this before until now. Could it be because i'm running my smic inside the engine bay sitting right near where the cai hole is? I know that is a shitty place to have it, but the guy i bought all of my stuff from had the charge pipes ran to that position. I will be getting a fmic and new charge pipes as soon as possible

that shouldnt be the problem why you over heat.....maybe try not running the coolant lines and just use the oil

If your not already run your fan to a switch so you can turn it on when you want like start up. This should help out alot

I am just using the oil lines for right now so i know its not that. I was boosting really high at first because my wastegate actuator was adjusted really funny. It was climbing around 12-13psi . I eventually got my boost down to 8psi by adjusting the actuator, but now i got this damn overheating problem . You think i could have blown my headgasket while boosting so high? I ran it a few times with the high boost...the boost was addicting :P. I didn't notice any oil in my coolant or anything. I'm guessing its the headgasket though because i wasn't overheating at all before i boosted the car.

are you loosing coolant at all? if your not dripping then its the headgasket.. if its a coolant line busted off or is cracked you will overheat... as long as it didn't go up most the way it won't be the HG... but if you did go up HIGH on temp then you blew your HG anyway from overheating.

more info plz

also do you have pressure in the top radiator hose after running the car for a little bit if not.. you have a cracked coolant line someplace most likely (happened to me). or maybe the thermostat isn't letting enough coolant pass?

any symptoms on start up.. does it sputter at first then acts fine? if so then its def. your headgasket.

Same thing happened to me, i know its my headgasket though, motors out, waiting for a new block to get here, and im dressing up the engine bay, But yeah, sucks when ---- like this happens, do you think its possible to have warped the head or block from letting the temp rise above normal a few times, its gone above 3/4's up, but oly for a second or two. I dont want to have to get it resrfaced, the head, but i might have to.
