The local junkyard, to date, has given me three ECUs for free. Because I found them laying in a mud puddle.

Take it home, clean it out, let it dry thoroughly and they work great. Well, except that one OBD0 PR4, but it was kinda funky - the 5128 RAM chip was soldered in crooked from the factory, barely making contact at one end. It ran for a year then left me sitting on the side of the road. Probably fixable, but it's too handy as a paperweight to fool with yet.

junkyards here in Germany wants $80 for US army junkyards, and 150 euros for German junkyard, thats about $200 dollars. I bought a p30 for 150euros
