Junkyard ECU's
Would it be worth my time to look at local junkyards for a p28 or p06 for chipping? How much should i expect to pay at a junk yard?

Re: Junkyard ECU's
Well the U-pull yards here want something low like $20 or something for all ECU's. The other yards want like $75-$150 for em.
I personally wouldn't want to be paying $75 for one. and $150 is just a hell no. |
Re: Junkyard ECU's
I don't pay a penny for my ecu from the junkyard so I make mad $$ from everyone here that buys them. Hell I think I sold 4 ecu's here in the past month. I feel ripped off if I pay for something out of the junkyard. It's call pick and pull. Not pick pull and pay. :P

damn right, anything that fits in your pocket is free.

Correction, Toolbox!!! I haven't sold anything that I knabbed, But plenty of part including my ECU where "free". I have gotten an ECU once and they want 100.00 CAN for it. Personally that's a rip of, seeing as how often does someone come to the wreckers looking for a 88 Integra ECU. A Lot of parts there, they should be paying us to take them away! |
Re: Junkyard ECU's
Got my p28 for $25 (20 + 5 core charge), used it with my z6 swap on the crx. I also had a bunch of p06 for the same price from the junkyard.

Re: Junkyard ECU's
yea i got one from the junkyard for like 35 with warranty, so if it didnt even work i can have credit at the junkyard too.

Re: Junkyard ECU's

Re: Junkyard ECU's
i picked up an auto p06 for 25, but i think im gonna sell it and keep looking for a manual p28

Re: Junkyard ECU's
It's pretty trivial to convert an auto P06 to a manual P28.
