i have found that jb weld works great when you have surfaces touching each other, like you're sandwiching the jb weld. it does not work well as a sealant to patch up holes (larger than pin sized). it also dries somewhat brittle, but i guess that depends on your mixture.

i guess it does depend onthe mix
i guess mine was pretty good
mine was stiff and wheni applied it it was kinda liquidy
then i dried real fast and hard
and it loesn't look or feel like its goin anywhere
thats on the BOV pipe and intercooler

how much would it really cost just to do it right and get it welded somewhere?

that jb weld ---- is pretty strong though. heh.. we jb welded our dryer door shut last year cause our landlord was a dick. he called me to make me pay for it, cause broke a crowbar trying to get it open.. fucker ;D

seriously, like 5-10 bucks, take it to a muffler shop, the most they'll POSSIBLY charge is $20

think about it this way:
it's not just the pressure in the pipes that you have to consider, it's the area that it'll be pushing on. when people JB weld end tanks on their IC's which have, say, 60 in^2 of area then run 10 psi through it, that's a LOT (upwards of 600lbs) of force trying to blow that ---- apart. if you're just JB welding a 1 in^2 pipe on, there's a lot less force involved, assuming there are no other loads going through the joint.

JB weld it, hang a weight off it that's about twice the force it'll see in regular use. if it holds you're good to go.

another way of looking at it:
there's a pressure differential of about 3psi between the top and bottom of the wing on a 747, yet it generates enough upload to lift the plane. why? HUGE area. same applies here.. if you're trying to JB weld something with a lot of area, it's likely not going to hold up. something small, on the other hand, should be fine.

jb weld is my freind. I am there biggest fan. That schit will hold up bro. As long a you mix it right and apply on a clean and slightly scuffed surface you will be just fine. Oh yeah, And did ABAZ say he wouldnt use the jb? I thought we were big fans of the jb here. Guess some people blew up and forgot their roots ;D
