Default internal wg dashpot against rad

You think this is ok? I hate internal wastegates, and this little ******** is smashed against fins on the radiator. It must get pretty hot since it's connected to the turbo, but do you think it'll harm the rad?

It really shouldnt get too hot but anything that could rub against something for a long period of time will eventually wear a hole in it. anyway you can put a peice of rubber or anything in between?

Hmm, maybe. Maybe I'll heat wrap the dashpot or something.

I've also been thinking about cutting some of the front away to get the radiator further forward.

you should try a 92-95 civic half-radiator.

I had this problem with one of my ss water lines to the turbo. Two days and I had a hole in my radiator. I took one of those cheap homedepot couplers and cut it in have to make a cushion for it. No problems yet.

As mentioned by other people, heat will not effect the copper (or aluminum) fins on the radiator. Wear is what's going to kill you. If you have that much of a clearance problem then you definately need to look into different placement of something. Granted no radiator on any car I've ever worked on is "perfect" (I always bend the fins, even when I'm installing the *******), a hole will not be good. Let us know your results.
