Default i hvae a b16 with a greddy 18g. Boost holds until 7300rpms, then falls off why??

I have a B16a with a greddy 18g. I have a turbosmart manual boost controller. I had it at the dyno today. It would spike to 9psi. then drop down to a steady 7.5-8psi. then at 72-7300rpms it would drop down to 5-6psi. We tried everything to make it work but nothing helped. If anyone knows what i could do to make it work let me know. Anyone else have this problem? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, vernon

shitty internal wastegate, its probably opening too far and bleeding off too much exhaust pressure.

look into replacing the vacuum actuator, or upgrade to external gate.

do you think i could just shorten the actuator arm and that will solve the problem?

I'd watch that, but correct me if I'm wrong. If you do that you might boost too much or more than you want during times when your UNDER 7300rpms. I always thought the size of the turbo depends on when it starts to "fall off" in the high rpms.

i'd have to say the size of you turbo is restricting. you should've built a kit.

i dont think it would, couldnt i just turn the boost controller all the way down or just take it out completely and then just shorten the wastegate actuator arm?

doing so will cause u to create more boost in lower rpms. not sure if u wanna do that. ur turbo may be to small thus falling off in higher rpms. to small turbo = insuffecient and wont hold boost til redline. i had a small *** t3 on my LS motor n it would die out at 7k, shift early is all i can say. or get a bigger turbo / external gate.

Pretty funny cuz my bro has 1 greddy 15g on his GSR and it doesnt die off by 8k.
Whether hes on 5-8 psi.
